And why, pray tell, are they walking around with one shoe?Ĩ4. Starting off sounding almost exactly like their (only slightly more superior) "More Than This," this might be the sappiest of all their ballads. "Half a Heart," Midnight Memories ( bonus track) So it's for the best that they kept this track off the standard release, since it's the only one that sounds like a boy band playing pretend.Ĩ6. Midnight Memories proved that 1D could do rock, and do it well. "Alive," Midnight Memories ( bonus track) "We're like na na na / then we're like yeah yeah yeah." Enough said.Ĩ7. Unfortunately, you'd be better off listening to Chris Martin and co. Surely you know that Harry is a renowned fan of Coldplay, the obvious sonic inspiration for this ballad. "Another World," Up All Night (bonus track)īet you didn't even know this song existed, did you?Ĩ9. Every penny spent on this was worth it.90. There are cute little notes in it from the band, pictures of their tour, fans, and their life since being put together as band. There is something in it for everyone (or, if you're like me, you'll like it all). I recommend this album for anyone who loves music. It's genus! I'm not at all surprised they are getting all these excellent reviews and are up at the top of the charts. There are cute feel-good slow songs, upbeat make-me-wanna-dance songs, etc! I love love love this. :) This CD is different than the first, having more variety of genres. I'm actually listening to it at this very moment! :) My favorite song probably is "Heart Attack" just because they decided to make it humorous by adding some sound affects in there. I NEVER thought I'd say this, but this album is even better than their first, "Up All Night"! I love every single song and have been listening to it non-stop since I got it over a week ago. There was praise for its quality of production, while criticism hinged on its generic, rushed nature. Take Me Home garnered mostly positive reviews from music critics. The members' voices are presented individually on the record, and its lyricism speaks of falling in love, unrequited love, the insistence that flaws are what make a person unique, commitment, jealousy, and longing for past significant others. The album's songs are characterized by metronomic pop, vocal harmonies, hand claps, prominent electric guitar riffs, bright synthesizers, a homogeneous sound and message, and rotations of lead vocals. Largely recorded and composed in Sweden during 2012, Savan Kotecha, Rami Yacoub and Carl Falk, who composed One Direction's hits, "What Makes You Beautiful" and "One Thing", spent six months in Stockholm developing songs for the album, and were able to shape melodies around the members' tones. As a follow-up to One Direction's internationally successful debut album, Up All Night (2011), Take Me Home was written in groups and has an average of just under five songwriters per track. Take Me Home is the second studio album by British-Irish boy band One Direction, released on 9 November 2012 by Sony Music Entertainment.
